BR130 -nicknamed "Ludmilla"- is immensely popular because it bridges the gap between East German (DR) nostalgia, and modern high-quality manufacturing. It is a massive Russian-built diesel locomotive, used extensively by the East German Deutsche Reichsbahn (DR). Modern reproductions offer exquisite detail which far exceed older, shorter BTTB models from the 1980s.
With excellent Hauling capability, it offers good pulling power.
Its reputation as a workhorse allows it to be used for both long, heavy freight trains and high-speed passenger services, fitting many types of layouts.
